Spin Saturdays

It's rare that people have one job they love.  I've actually got 2 jobs that I love....what are the odds?

My day job is spent in the world of coffee while my weekend job is teaching Spin Classes.

So this morning at 8:00am I taught a Spin Class.  I don't love getting up in the morning but I do love the people that come to the class.  They TOTALLY keep ME motivated....shouldn't it be the other way around?

I love motivating others and helping them reach their fitness goals.  Life is good.

If you've ever considered being a group fitness instructor DO IT.  It is one of the best decisions I've ever made!

Anyways, here is my playlist from class today.  A few people always ask me about the music so I figured I'd post it in case they (or others) want some new tunes for their workout.

  1. Paris (Ooh La La) by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
  2. In The Air by Phil Collins (No laughing.  It is a KICK ASS warm up hill song)
  3. Bounce by Calvin Harris (feat. Kellis)
  4. Mr. Brightside (extended remix) by The Killers (9 minute song)
  5. Tonight, Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae
  6. Do You? by iFFY (The Bad Man)
  7. Bright Lights, Bigger City by Cee Lo Green
  8. Blackout by Breathe Carolina
  9. On Top by The Killers
  10. Giving Up The Gun by Vampire Weekend
  11. The Golden Age by The Asteroid Galaxy Tour
  12. Ready, Steady, Go by Oakenfold

Anyway. I guess what I'd like to know is how would one go about getting a job like that ??

  3. I've been seriously contemplating becoming a Zumba instructor. Was it you whose mom is a Zumba instructor? I love it. I went to spin this week and my butt is sore cause I havent done it in so long, but I liked the teacher and I liked her songs and technique. I bet you are such a fun teacher.

  4. Aw, this post makes me miss my favorite spin teacher that left my gym recently! (her leaving actually even made me quit the gym, I liked her so much). I bet your spin class is really fun!! Anytime the instructor feeds off the enthusiasm of the students and loves what they do, I know it'll be a good class :)

  5. Coffee and spinning! I would love that too!! I really love spin class but it always conflicts with preschool drop off so I never get to go. I miss it!

  6. Is your spinning class in a fancy gym? It looks like a hotel!

  7. My career plan is to finish up my degree in biology with a focus in health/fitness services, then get certified as a personal trainer/fitness instructor. I'm also considering getting certified as a midwife as well. These are two areas I would LOVE to work in, but they also allow me to sort of work as I'm wanted/when I want to, since it would be very client-based.

  8. SPIN is amazing! I'm certified to teach, but still haven't gotten around to actually getting my own classes. I'm glad you're a spinning addict too :)

  9. Hi Sarah! I love the playlist (I'm reviewing some of your older posts for future work-outs). :-) What spin exercises do you suggest with these songs (ie: hills, sprints, jumps, hover, etc...)? My gym doesn't have spin on the weekends, but I like to go in and use the spin bikes and do my own (or your) routine to my headphones. Yea!
